My Jeep Story - Leanne Reed

It was the first winter snow in Queenstown for 2018. My husband departed for work as usual in his “2WD tradie ute” but arrived back home half an hour later.
He regaled a story of getting to the top of a steep snow-covered hill, testing the traction and deciding it wasn’t for him before pulling off the road, only to watch the next 6 vehicles spearing off the road into the water table.
While deciding what to do, a serious 4WD appeared and he hopped a lift home.
The next move was the inspired one.
He rang Scott Billman at Central Motor Group in Queenstown and asked if the bright red Jeep Compass Limited that we had test driven the weekend before was still available. It was.
So the next statement was “If you can get it to us (a 23km drive in the worst winter conditions for years) you’ve sold it.
An hour later, Scotty was at our house - we drove back to the dealership and the deal was done.
My husband is a local Queenstowner who has seen many winters and owned many vehicles, and he reckons my Compass is the best winter road driving 4WD he has ever driven.
The hard part now is beating him to it in the mornings!
