We are beyond excited to be partnering with Larissa, Isaac, Ryder-Leo & August-Grace Carlson from THE LEO STYLE as they showcase some of the Wairarapa’s hidden gems all from the comfort of Alba, their beloved Jeep Wrangler. 

This adventurous family of four will be sharing their travel experiences over the next two months from how they shop locally while travelling, to how they construct a memorable New Zealand journey that will fulfil any travel itch and create those memories that last a life time.

The Jeep brand is built on the pillars of Freedom, Adventure, Authenticity and Passion and we agree the The Carlson's “Go Anywhere, Do Anything” attitude truly embodies the Jeep values.

ADVENTURE 1 - TE PĀMU ESCAPE

Kicking off the Wairarapa Jeep Adventures in style! The Carlson's booked in a local luxury safari-style glamping experience at Te Pāmu Escape which sits on 850 acres of farmland, perfect for those who want to get out of the city but don't want to be without their modern home luxuries, such as a full functioning bathroom and heated blankets for the cozy winter nights. 

During these adventures, the Carlson's are consciously spending locally to entice others to keep spending in the community.  Larissa will have your stomach rumbling as she describes all the delicious produce they purchase during their stops and Alba (their Jeep Wrangler) provide's them with a camping fridge and stove to store and cook all their meals during their stay.

ADVENTURE 2 - STONY BAY LODGE

An hour east of Martinborough lies one of Wairarapa's best-kept secrets, the Tora Coast where you will find the beautiful Stony Bay Lodge, the destination of the Carlson's second Wairarapa Jeep Adventure. 

On the way, the team stopped in Martinborough at the original local grocer, P&K Martinborough, as well as at Martinborough Wine Merchants for a few weekend essentials prior to navigating the wild southern coastline.

Bad weather altered family weekend plans, however this meant Alba had her time to shine! Her off-roading capabilities navigated the gravel roads and took the family on an adventure through the heavy rain and thick mud. Larissa captured some epic videos of their 4x4 action and these will be saved on her Instagram highlights 'Stony Bay' and 'JeepNZ' - make sure you check them out.

ADVENTURE 3 - LONGSPUR ECO COTTAGE

Only 35 minutes from Martinborough, hidden off-the-beaten-track sits the beautiful Longspur Eco Cottage where The Carlson's spent their third Wairarapa Jeep Adventure. Surrounded by native bush you will be guaranteed privacy, have many incredible places to explore and with no reception you will be able to completely disconnect and relax.

Whether you want to take time out with the family and re-connect playing with the puzzles, board games and slingshots or enjoying the peaceful scenery while you cook on the outdoor BBQ, the Longspur Eco Cottage has a variety of options to help relax and unwind. The cottage also has it's own exclusive hiking track called Rocky Knob. A great climb, this track is roughly 5km to the summit and you are rewarded with a stunning 360-degree view of your rural surroundings.

On their way home they took Alba the Jeep on an off-road experience at White Rock where she tackled the long and winding gravel road that lead Larissa, Isaac and the boys to breathtaking farmland, animals and pictured below, the Tora Coast.
